France Trip: Bonjour Paris!

Bonjour!

This time I will tell you about my last euro trip which's happened on the end of last year. I went to Paris from Jakarta using Malaysian Airlines (MAS). I choose MAS since it offered the lowest price with only 2 hours transit time in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Malaysia.

However, after I entered the plane and took a seat around 15 - 30 minutes, the pilot spoke in the speaker mentioning that the plane would not take off that night due to the airport in Paris is full. He also said the plane will delayed about 4 hours. It was 00.00 a.m, which mean I had to wait until 4 a.m for the flight.

The airlines didn't offer any hotel whatsoever, so all passengers were sleeping in the waiting room, using the purple blanket that was lent by them.

When it was almost 4 a.m., the officer announced that the flight will be delayed to 10 a.m. and they just gave us few snacks as the breakfast. Since my traveling partner and I have already bored in the waiting room, we spend time walking around the terminal and duty free shops, then ended sitting near the window with nice view of airplanes in the morning.

Fortunately they weren't lying again, so we did took off at 10.00 a.m. Frankly speaking, for flying about 13 hours, the in-flight entertainment was kinda sucks. Totally different from the in-flight entertainment during Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur that was hi-tech and sophisticated. In the long flights, we did not have any option of the show to be watched, just like watching blurry tv, with some channels that replaying the show over and over again. Really not recommend long flight with this airlines.

Finally we arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport at 07.00 p.m. Paris time. After taking our baggage, my travelling partner and I went to the tourist information center and bought our Paris Museum Pass and Paris Visit for 3 days. The information center was really helpful so don't worry if you have any questions about how to use the passes.

We took metro to Prince Hotel at Ecole Militaire. Since our hotel really close to Eiffel Tower, so after checked in, we took a walk to Eiffel. Actually we planned to spend the afternoon at the top of Eiffel tower and already bought the online ticket. Unfortunately the 10 hours flight delay made us had to let our Eiffel tickets went to waste since the tickets were for specific time only.

So here we go, enjoying the night around the Eiffel tower. During our stay in Paris, the UN Climate Change Conference COP21 was being held there. Therefore, the light show at Eiffel tower was replaced by the climate change theme. It's still beautiful anyway.

We walked to Palais de Chaillot to get better view of the Eiffel tower, and yes, the Eiffel tower looks majestic from up there.

Singapore Trip: Trick Eye Museum

When I went to Korea, I planned to visit Trick Eye Museum in Seoul, but unfortunately I came there at 8.30 p.m and they said the last admission hour has passed and I can not enter the Trick Eye Museum. So, when I knew that Singapore has opened Trick Eyed Museum in Sentosa Island, it became a chance that I should not miss.

My sister and I came there at the evening after done playing in Universal Studio. The museum close at 9 p.m, so this time I came at 7 p.m. The entrance fee is S$25. Maybe because it's already night so not many people came there, especially because the location is kinda hard to find. It is located near Insadong Korea Town, so if you've passed the korean restaurant then you're on the right track.

Once entered the museum, I was so excited and can't wait to try every photo spot. All I have to do was just looking at the instruction, which guided me how to take the best picture that represent the trick eye. My sugestions are don't forget to make sure you have enough memory card in your camera because you just want to take picture of everything in there and don't forget to bring your friend to help you taking the picture :p

Singapore Trip: Strolling around Haji Lane and Orchard Road

Our hotel is located around Bugis street, so we decided to visit Haji Lane that located around that area. I was curious about Haji Lane because many people often took photo there, especially at the wall with unique mural.

My sister and I arrived too at 8 a.m there and all the shop there still close. So what we did was just taking picture during the long and narrow Haji Lane.

The building there looks traditional with difference color from one building to another. Most of the dwellers around there are Muslim, so I was curious to visit the cafe and restaurant there, but unfortunately most of them are still closed.

After looking at every alley, finally I found some murals to be taken picture with. Interesting drawing but the amount of the murals are not as much as I thought it was.

Because we were still hungry and done looking around the Haji Lane, then we decided to go to Orchard Road but take a stop at City Hall MRT Station first to shop some beauty products in Raffles City and had breakfast in my favorite Salad restaurant, Simply Wrapps. This time I ordered Newyork Newyork with Tomato Basil wrap and my sister ordered Singapore Mixed Seafood unwrapped. They're still as tasty and fresh as I imagine.

Next, we continue our trip to Orchard Road. This is my sister first time went there, so she kinda excited and walk happily along the road althought the weather is so hot that day.

We stopped in front of ION mall and buy the famous ice cream sandwich that is being sold by old man on their motor bike. These ice cream also well known as Uncle Ice Cream. I ordered the one with mint choco chip and I hardly understand why Uncle Ice Cream is always tastier than other ice cream sandwich that I found in Indonesia. The taste is just right and the price is cheap too, only S$1.50.

In front of ION there are some colorful statues, we saw some people taking picture with it, so I took my chance to take picture with it too :p
